Tanot Mata Temple

Have you ever seen Bollywood movie 'Border' made by J.P. Dutta? The temple shown in that movie was this temple. If you have planned to go to Jaisalmer than make a schedule to visit this temple. The best time to visit this place is from October to February. It is said that Pakistan dropped many bombs over this temple during battle of Longewala in 1965. None of the bombs dropped by Pakistani Army explode and now there is a museum showing the unexploded bombs.

Tanot Mata Temple is about 100 kms. from Jaisalmer. So if you have your own vehicle or a private taxi than it may not take more than 2 hrs to reach there. Whole route is full of large sand dunes and very less population and this completely depicts 'The Thar Desert'.
Indo-Pak border is also near to this temple. So if you interested in visiting international border than you have to take permission from the BSF personnel's. Carry your ID proof with you.

Sachin Tendulkar

Cricket Wizard - Sachin Tendulkar

While writing my earlier posts England vs india and Australia vs India, I thought of writing about cricket wizard Sachin Tendulkar. Than I thought it is not possible to write something about this great player in some lines and I decided to write a new post about him. Also the recent comment of Shoaib Akhtar in 'Controversially Yours' inspired me to write something. According to my view if a child knows about cricket than the first player whose name he will remember will be Sachin only. If a small boy plays good cricket than we all say that this boy will become Sachin one day. Sachin is an alternate name of perfection in cricket.

Shoaib Akthar in his recent autobiography 'Controversially Yours' has written some nonsense about Sachin and other team players. But as always Sachin has nothing to say on this topic. This sense of coolness and maturity can only be shown by Sachin. We all know that Sachin is giving his 100% in every match from last 20 years, so he don’t need to prove anything.

If I started writing about awards and achievements of Sachin Tendulkar than it may take days to write me. In short we can say that Sachin has achieved each and every milestone in his career which other players can only thought of achieving in dreams. He is the only cricket player on this planet to hit a double century in ODI format of cricket. He is about to achieve another milestone of hundred centuries. He is most run scorer in both test matches and one day internationals. Even Donald Bradman said that Sachin plays like him.
If Dhyanchand was wizard in Hockey with stick than no doubt Sachin is cricket wizard with bat for India. Every player sees lots of ups and down in his career that don't means he is not a good player. Specially if Sachin not play well in some match than everybody starts blaming him and sachin know this very well. He is going through all this from last 20 years and every time he proved his critics wrong. So best of luck Shoaib Akthar, but this time you had messed with wrong person.:P

Google Custom Search Engine

Using Google CSE module on Drupal Sites

The most beautiful thing that I like about Drupal CMS is that there is a contributed module for almost everything. You just have to know your requirements and search effectively for specific module. While you are searching for Google custom Search Engine you must already know what is the use of this Google feature. More information about Google custom Search Engine can be taken from http://www.google.com/cse. 

Now when you go on the above link they ask you for either creating a new Google custom Search Engine or managing old ones. Lets make a new search engine for our website. It takes only 3 steps. Firstly you have to give the name, description, sites to search description. Secondly you have to make changes to look and feel of search box and finally get the code.
Once you have generated your own site code, download and extract contributed drupal module from http://drupal.org/project/google_cse. Put this module in modules folder of your site. Enable this module by going in admin/modules section of your site administrator. When you go in site configuration and click on Google CSE you will be asked for CSE unique ID which we already have generated from http://www.google.com/cse/manage/all. Thats it. Our google search engine is ready to work. A block is generated by this module which can be activated for showing a search form wherever we need. This feature is readily used in sites made in Drupal and whose database is very big.

India vs Australia

India Vs Australia

While looking at the future tour of Indian cricket Team one thing which interested me was India vs Australia Test match series and than 2 quick T20 matches. After world cup Indian Team has seen lots of ups and downs. Most of there key players are suffering from injuries and also those who are playing are not in complete form. Indian Team will play a series with England Team before coming to Australian Tour. This India Vs England series will be a deciding factor in the future tours like India Vs Australia test match series and than a tri-series between India, Sri-lanka and Australia.
Indian team have to give their 100 percent in order to compete with these two teams. Both Sri-Lanka and Australia have lost there world-cup matches to India or we can say that they lost world-cup due to India. So now they are all set to take revenge. Lets wait and watch weather Indian Team can maintain their world champions status or loose like they done in recent tour to england. :P

Karni Mata Temple - The Rat Temple

I stayed in Bikaner for almost 10 years. During my stay I come to know about Karni Mata Temple. I decided to visit this place. It is situated in village name Deshnoke which is nearly 35kms.from Bikaner. This place can be easily approached as it is well connected by road and railway lines. The first thing that you will notice strange about Karni Mata Temple is that this temple is totally surrounded by thousands of Rats.

People from almost all over the world come at this place to see and take blessings of the Goddess .This strange and totally unique temple is known for a white Rat which is know as blessings of Goddess herself. Karni Mata Temple is open for whole year but main visitors come in Navratras which is a period of 9 days.


 
 

Karni Mata Temple was build by Ganga Singh, ruler of bikaner, is a symbole of fine craftsmanship having domes of silver and gold. The royal family always came to this place before going to any important work.

So next time when you decide to make a tour, and are going towards bikaner don't forget to visit The Rat Temple. It will be a surely new experience for you all. Also there are some more temples in the same village. So if you have time than do visit those temples also.

Removing special characters from Mysql database

I have two ideas to remove extra unnecessary special characters. If we are adding data directly to database through form or some other means and don't have control over the type of data inserted than we can use this simple query right after the mysql_connect( ) call:
 mysql_query("SET NAMES 'utf8'");
And than your insert query such as $query=mysql_query("INSERT into tablename VALUES(value1,value2,...)");


Another way is if data is already stored in database and we want to show data without special characters such as in xml feeds or some other form than we can update the database table with following query:
UPDATE tablename SET fieldname = replace(fieldname,"word_to_replace","with_this_word");


Suppose we have to replace 'he' with 'him' in whole row of a database table than we can use above query as:
UPDATE tablename SET row-name = replace(row-name,"he","him");

Simple Tips While Driving

While posting my last blog Travel Tips I decided to write something about Simple traveling Do’s and Don’ts. This is an extension to that blog.

· Drive slowly in rain, rough roads, sharp turns, in traffic, near schools, hospitals etc.

· Always wear your seat belt properly. Most of the causalities in car accident’s are due to head injuries. This can be easily avoided by wearing seat belts. Also it avoids you from traffic challan .J

· Before going on a tour check performance of your car. Regular checking of car’s tires, breaks, oil etc. can save you from mishaps. Mostly every driver knows basic functionality of car performance.

· Always follow traffic rules. If you are following rules properly than chances of mishap are very rare.

· Speed thrills but kills. No need to explain further.

· Lights of vehicle should be in running condition. As most of the signals can be done using headlights and taillights.

·  Always concentrate while driving and focus on road. Accidents mainly happen due to lost of concentration. Don’t use phone while driving. If it is urgent than park your vehicle properly and than make calls. If you make calls mostly while driving than you can use a Bluetooth .;)

· Don’t take alcohol while driving at-least. Also never drive under the influence of drugs or while feeling sleepy.

· Never overtake from wrong side even if its looking clear to you. Also while overtaking pass proper signals to other vehicles before overtaking.

India Vs England Series

After a series without a single win against England, India is ready to take revenge against them in the forthcoming series. There is no doubt that Indian team always play their best at home. Dhoni brigade is all set to prove that they are the world champs. Alastair cook is also expected to lead England tour to India due to his faboulus performance recently. No doubt this series will be full of action packed entertainment. Sachin is also waiting for his 100^th century despirately and we can expect a good knock from him.

Travel Tips

While traveling  one should always follow some simple rule or we can say traveling tips to make journey a pleasant experience and prevent travel from becoming a tragedy. A tour become tragedy when we do not prepare properly before going on a trip.

I have made a simple list of Travel Tips which I generally follow and also want suggest others. Give your suggestions or tips to improve this article further....

• On a busy scheduled trip lack of sleep and unhealthy diet can make you sick. so it is advised to take a proper sleep of at-least 6 hours daily and also take care of eating habits.
• Keep less cash as much possible and stay more dependent on credit and debit cards. Nowadays cards are accepted everywhere so no need to carry lots of cash and risk your life.
• Don’t drink alcohol while driving as alcohol have effect on nervous system which reduces decision making power.
• If going on a preplanned trip, you should make advance arrangements of stay and inquiry about other important aspects like weather, food, places to visit etc..
• If you are staying in a hotel make sure that your near and dear-ones know about that hotel.
• Park your vehicle only in a parking area and take receipt of that.
• Never discuss or tell your travel plan in public.
• Keep your important documents in a separate beg and always keep it close to you.
• Prefer packed food while on travel. Don’t take anything from strangers.
• If you are going on a trip in your own vehicle make sure to consult mechanic.
• Keep first aid box, torch and your contact details while traveling.

These are simple tips which we all know but rarely follow. I have also missed some tips. So if you think that something else is also important you can post comments. Thanks J

How to copy one table content from one database to another database using PHP

This is a simple problem faced by me to get required objective. After hours of googling i come up with some code to achieve my task. Make Drupal CCK field visible to anonymous users in Views

This is a common problem faced by most of the Drupal users. When they apply CCK fields to Views fields are not visible to anonymous users but are available to Admin.
The reason is that each CCK field wheather newly created or old has there permissions. Whenever we add a new field we need to go to /admin/user/permissions and change the settings to viewable for anonymous users if we want people who are not logged in to be able to see that field.
So simple.......    :)
